Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional Ingredients:

  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Incorporate dry into wet: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Layer the fudge: Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, drizzle half of the hot fudge sauce, then repeat with the remaining batter and fudge. Swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and serve: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm with extra hot fudge or ice cream. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for an extra indulgent treat.
  • If using nuts, make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
