Breadcrumbs:
- ½ Baguette
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 teaspoon Oregano
Pasta Ingredients:
- 300 g Cavatappi Macaroni
- 5 Onions thinly sliced
- ½ cup beef broth
- 3 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 1 tablespoon Flour + 3 tablespoon water for béchamel
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- Fresh Parsley chopped
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika powder
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- Prepare the Onions: Thinly slice the onions into long strips.
- Caramelize the Onions: Sauté the onions in olive oil over medium heat for 30–40 minutes until caramelized. Add beef broth if needed to prevent sticking.
- Make the Béchamel Sauce: Melt butter, whisk in flour, then gradually add heavy cream. Stir in caramelized onions, salt, pepper, parsley, and Parmesan cheese.
- Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook pasta until just shy of al dente.
- Combine and Bake: Mix pasta with sauce, transfer to a baking dish, top with remaining onions and breadcrumbs. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes.
- Serve: Serve hot and enjoy!

- You can use an air fryer to crisp up the breadcrumb topping before adding it to the pasta.
