For the Cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 2 cans strawberry pie filling (21 oz each)
  • 1 block cream cheese (8 oz), softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly at the bottom of the dish.
  2. Combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Dollop over the pie filling.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly on top of the cream cheese layer.
