A creamy, flavorful Crockpot Cajun Chicken Pasta that combines tender shredded chicken with penne pasta in a rich, cheesy Cajun sauce. Perfect for an easy, hands-off dinner with a spicy kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Liquids and Dairy

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Pasta

  • 2 cups penne pasta, uncooked

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot and generously season them with Cajun seasoning and garlic powder to infuse flavor.
  2. Cook Chicken: Pour in the chicken broth, cover the crockpot, and cook on low heat for 4 hours until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  3. Shred the Chicken: Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the crockpot, shred them using two forks, and set aside.
  4. Cook the Pasta: Add the uncooked penne pasta directly into the crockpot with the remaining liquid and cook on low for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is tender.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and shredded chicken; mix thoroughly to combine all flavors and heat through.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and smooth texture.
  • If you prefer less spice, reduce the Cajun seasoning by half.
  • Make sure to stir occasionally while cooking the pasta to prevent sticking.
  • This dish can be served with a side of steamed vegetables or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
