Spinach
- 10 oz frozen spinach, thawed
Dip Base
- 1 cup (246g) sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
- ½ cup (56g) mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup (33g) grated Parmesan cheese
Seasonings
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Drain Spinach: Place thawed spinach into a strong kitchen towel and wring out all the moisture to ensure the dip isn’t watery. Transfer the well-drained spinach into a large mixing bowl.
- Combine Ingredients: Add sour cream or Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to the drained spinach. Stir everything together thoroughly until well combined into a smooth and creamy consistency.
- Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the dip for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together and the dip to firm up slightly for better texture.
- Serve: Serve the spinach dip cold or optionally warm it gently if preferred. It can be presented in a bread bowl or alongside crackers and veggies. Store any leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Notes
- For a lighter option, use plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
- Make sure to thoroughly squeeze out the spinach moisture to avoid a watery dip.
- Try adding chopped water chestnuts or diced onions for extra crunch.
- Serve with pita chips, bread slices, or fresh vegetables.
- Can be warmed gently in a microwave for a warm dip variation.
