Ingredients

Scale

For the Burger Mixture

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef (96/4)
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1/3 cup light mayonnaise (90g)
  • 1/3 cup ketchup (100g)
  • 1/4 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1.5 Tbsp. pickle juice

For Your Bowls

  • 8 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (56g)
  • Chopped white onion
  • Pickles

Optional Toppings

  • Chopped red onion
  • Chopped tomato
  • Side of fries

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef Mixture: Spray a large skillet with nonstick spray and heat over medium. Add the lean ground beef and chopped onion. Cook, breaking the beef into bite sized pieces, until the beef is fully cooked and no longer pink.
  2. Season the Beef: Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and yellow mustard to the cooked beef. Stir well to combine all the flavors. Let the mixture simmer gently while you prepare the sauce.
  3. Make the Big Mac Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine light mayonnaise, ketchup, chopped dill pickles, and pickle juice. Mix thoroughly until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
  4. Assemble the Bowls: Fill each serving bowl with 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce, then add approximately 100 grams of the meat mixture. Top with about 2 tablespoons (14 grams) of shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup (58 grams) of the Big Mac sauce, chopped white onions, and additional pickles as desired.
  5. Meal Prep and Serving Suggestions: For meal prep, layer the cooked meat first in your container and cover with parchment paper. Add the lettuce, onions, and cheese on top, and place pickles separately or on parchment to prevent sogginess. Keep the Big Mac sauce in a small separate container to add fresh at mealtime. Reheat the meat portion if preferred, then mix all ingredients before eating, or enjoy cold as a refreshing salad.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef (at least 96% lean) to keep the dish lower in fat.
  • Pickle juice adds tang and moisture to the sauce—do not omit for best flavor.
  • Feel free to add optional toppings like red onions or tomatoes for extra freshness.
  • The salad bowl can be served cold or warmed by reheating the meat portion only.
  • For meal prepping, keep wet ingredients separate to prevent the salad from becoming soggy.
  • Pair with a side of fries if you want a classic diner-style meal experience.
