Dry Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- ¾ teaspoon salt
Additional Ingredients:
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup whole milk, or buttermilk (or ½ cup of each)

- Prepare the Butter: Place butter in the freezer for at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 425° F with a rack in the upper third of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
- Add Butter: Grate the frozen butter using a box grater. Add the butter to the bowl and mix it into the dry ingredients using a fork.
