Air Fryer S’mores Recipe

Introduction

Air Fryer S’mores are a quick and easy twist on the classic campfire treat. Using an air fryer, you can enjoy gooey marshmallows and melted chocolate in just minutes, no fire required. Perfect for a cozy snack anytime at home.

A close-up image of a two-layer s'more sits on a round white plate with small black speckles, placed on a white marbled surface. The bottom layer starts with a square, light brown graham cracker with a rough, crumbly texture. On top of this is a thick, soft white marshmallow that is slightly toasted and puffed up, smothered in glossy, melted dark chocolate dripping down its sides. Above this is another graham cracker square, supporting another layer of lightly toasted, soft white marshmallow with a shiny melted dark chocolate stripe on top. The dessert is capped with a final graham cracker square, light golden-brown with visible texture and tiny holes. The melted chocolate and marshmallow create a gooey, smooth contrast to the crispy crackers. photo taken with an iphone --ar 4:5 --v 7

Ingredients

  • 2 whole graham crackers (30g)
  • 2 large marshmallows
  • 1 (1.45-ounce/41g) chocolate bar

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Break the graham cracker sheets in half to create 4 squares.
  2. Step 2: Place 2 graham cracker halves in the base of the air fryer. Cut or tear off a ¼-inch piece from the bottom of each marshmallow to expose the sticky interior. Place the sticky side down on the graham crackers to help them stay in place. Air fry at 350°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Add the other 2 graham cracker halves to the air fryer. Top each with half of the chocolate bar, stacking the chocolate if needed. Air fry at 350°F for 1 more minute.
  4. Step 4: Carefully remove the graham crackers from the air fryer using a small spatula. Press a chocolate-topped cracker onto a marshmallow-topped cracker. Let rest for 1 to 2 minutes before eating, as the marshmallow will be very hot.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra gooeyness, try adding a thin layer of peanut butter or Nutella on the graham cracker before placing the marshmallow.
  • Use flavored chocolate bars like mint or caramel to switch up the classic taste.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can achieve a similar result under a broiler, watching carefully to avoid burning.

Storage

Air fryer s’mores are best enjoyed fresh and warm. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day. Reheating is not recommended because the marshmallow can become tough or hard.

How to Serve

The image shows a close-up of three stacked s’mores on a white plate, with each s’more having three layers: a golden-brown crispy graham cracker on top and bottom, a thick melted dark brown chocolate layer, and a soft white marshmallow layer slightly oozing out from the sides. Behind the plate, there is a white oval plate filled with more s’mores arranged neatly, and a white bowl filled with marshmallows in the blurred background. Pieces of chocolate lie scattered on the white marbled surface next to the plate. A floral-patterned cloth is draped beside the plate, adding a soft touch to the scene. Base Ingredients

  • 2 whole graham crackers (30g)
  • 2 large marshmallows
  • 1 (1.45-ounce/41g) chocolate bar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Graham Crackers: Break the graham crackers sheets in half so that you have 4 squares to work with easier and to fit in the air fryer basket.
  2. Place Marshmallows on Graham Crackers: Arrange 2 graham cracker halves at the base of the air fryer. Cut or tear off about ¼-inch from the bottom of 2 marshmallows to expose the sticky interior and place the sticky sides down onto the graham cracker halves. This helps keep the marshmallows in place during air frying.
  3. Air Fry Marshmallows: Air fry the graham cracker halves topped with marshmallows at 350°F (175°C) for 2 to 3 minutes until the marshmallows are toasted and soft.
  4. Add Chocolate on Remaining Crackers: Place the other two graham cracker halves in the air fryer basket and top each with half of the chocolate bar. Stack chocolate if necessary to cover well.
  5. Air Fry Chocolate: Air fry the chocolate-topped graham crackers at 350°F (175°C) for 1 minute so the chocolate starts to melt.
  6. Assemble S’mores: Carefully remove all graham crackers from the air fryer using a small spatula. Press the chocolate-covered crackers on top of the marshmallow-covered ones to form sandwiches. Let them rest for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the chocolate and marshmallow to set but be mindful the marshmallows will still be very hot.

Notes

  • Be cautious when removing s’mores from the air fryer as the marshmallows will be extremely hot and sticky.
  • Cutting the marshmallows to expose the sticky interior helps prevent them from flying off during cooking.
  • Feel free to use different types of chocolate such as dark, milk, or flavored bars depending on your preference.
  • Adjust air fryer temperatures and times slightly based on your model as air frying conditions may vary.
