Ingredients

Scale

Fries

  • 1 lb (450g) frozen French fries (or homemade fries)

Bacon and Cheese

  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup jalapeños, sliced (optional for heat)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries: Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package. Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake according to the package instructions until crispy and golden brown.
  2. Cook the Bacon: While the fries are baking, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
  3. Load the Fries: Once the fries are cooked, remove them from the oven. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the hot fries. Evenly distribute the crumbled bacon on top. Return the loaded fries to the oven for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Add Toppings: Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle with garlic powder, jalapeños (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle sour cream over the top and sprinkle with chopped green onions and parsley for garnish.
  5. Serve: Serve the loaded bacon cheese fries immediately while hot and melty for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use homemade fries if you prefer a fresher, less processed option.
  • Adjust jalapeño quantity or omit to control the heat level.
  • For a crispier cheese topping, broil for the last 1-2 minutes but watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a healthier twist.
  • Leftover loaded fries are best reheated in an oven or air fryer to retain crispiness.
